This name was shortened to Belhaven College in 1915 and in 2010, after many years of growth and change (including the event of another devastating fire, a rebuilding project, and the addition of several programs), the school achieved University status and adopted its current name in order to better represent the breadth of its programs and reach. Today, Belhaven University has a total enrollment figure of 4,500 and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
Program Details: As part of its several online degree program offerings, Belhaven University offers an online Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources. Briar Cliff University is a private, liberal arts college located in Sioux City, Iowa on a 70 acre, suburban campus, founded in the Catholic, Franciscan tradition. Established as Briar Cliff College in 1930 by the Sister of Saint Francis of Dubuque, Iowa, today Briar Cliff University’s mission is to be “a community committed to higher education within a liberal arts and Catholic perspective.” Its mission statement continues, “In the Franciscan tradition of service, caring and openness to all, Briar Cliff emphasizes quality education for its students, combining a broad intellectual background with career development. Designed for business professionals who have already earned a Bachelor’s degree, the program focuses on globalization, technology, and 21st-century workforce challenges and seeks to equip students to “cultivate strategic ways to meet the critical needs [of business]”. Fully approved and aligned with the guidelines set by The Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), the program is offered with two capstone options to complete the curriculum including a non-thesis option. A 33-credit hour program, tuition costs are kept at a reasonable cost and financial aid is available.
