When considering the Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, one must understand that Engineering is the discipline that builds our country’s infrastructure, networks both real (power grid and telephone lines) and virtual (internet and intranets).  Without proper engineering, none of these structures – physical or virtual – would have come into being. Engineering can be the difference between the tallest skyscraper and a large, unusable money pit.

6. New Mexico State University

Program Details: New Mexico State University oars the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering as a distance education program through its College of Engineering. An excellent option for working professionals, the program is available as a 30-credit coursework-only MSEE degree which may be earned entirely online or with an option involving 27 credits of online coursework combined with a 3-credit technical report and an oral exam which must be taken on-site. Both program options are only available to students based in the US and are not currently offered to international students. Program Details: North Carolina State University offers the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering as an online and distance education program. A 30-credit-hour degree, the program does require the GRE for all applicants and is specifically designed for students who already hold an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline and wish to pursue a graduate degree in electrical engineering. Program Details: Kennesaw State University offers the Master of Science in Applied Engineering with an emphasis in Electrical through its Online Learning department and the Department of Engineering & Engineering Technology. Online Master of Science Engineering (concentration in Electrical Engineering)

Program Details: The University of Tennessee Chattanooga offers the Master of Science Engineering with a concentration in Electrical Engineering. Available through the College of Engineering and Computer Science and the Department of Electrical Engineering, the program offers specialized study options in the areas of Power Systems, Control Systems, Communication Systems, and Computer Hardware. The University of Tennessee-Chattanooga (UTC) is a public, coeducational institution of higher education located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Online Master of Science in Engineering (concentration in Electrical Engineering)

Program Details: Louisiana Tech University offers the Master of Science in Engineering. Available with a concentration on electrical engineering, the M.S. in Engineering is an interdisciplinary program which provides students the opportunity to specialize in particular areas of engineering while placing a strong emphasis on research. 50. University of Wisconsin Platteville

Online Master of Science in Engineering

Program Details: The University of Wisconsin Platteville offers the Master of Science in Engineering through its Distance Education Department. Available with several areas of emphasis, options include Engineering Design; Applications of Engineering management; Control (Electrical Systems); and Structural/Geotechnical Engineering. An area of emphasis is earned by completing a minimum of 9 credits within the student’s chosen area of study. Several core courses, equaling 12 credits, are also required with specific courses including Engineering Communications; Linear Algebra; Applied Statistics; Simulation Modeling of Engineering Systems; Optimization with Engineering Applications; and Engineering Management.
